Tips/Tricks for Chemistry SAT?
« on: January 26, 2015, 02:33:12 AM »
It's that time of year for 2nd semester juniors of American secondary school: SAT's are fast approaching. One of the main specialty SAT II's that I will definitely need is the Chemistry SAT.

Any past Chemistry SAT survivors/future Chemistry SAT takers have any good tricks and tips for getting perfect scores in this test?

I know of a few neat tricks that come in mind:
1. Rip out periodic table in the back. Won't need to flip back and forth in that stupid booklet. Save 2-5 minutes.
2. Skip stoichio questions until later. Stoichio = easiest, yet most time-consuming questions on the multiple choice question portion. Save 5-10 minutes

Anything else I missed?

SAT chemistry is not so hard to be worried. There are simple questions like balancing,  some definitions or pv=nrt at STP. There are also true-false questions. Don't worry, it's so easy , if you know chemistry a little bit  :)
