Isomer Help
« on: March 20, 2006, 12:13:47 AM »
Hello,

I'm stuck on getting the 3rd isomer diagram for:

C2H2FBr

I'm sure there are 3, could someone please help diagram them for me?

Thanks.  :D

Which ones do you have already?

sorry for the double post...

but are these the same just flipped? or are they different? how do you determine what is same/different when flipped?

They are definetly different. The C=C carbon double bond does not rotate arounf the C=C bond (it can't). I don't think that "flipped" is the right word to use here. If you have access to some molecular model kits (ball and stick style) you can make a model of this molecule and see for yourself.

Oh and by the way, yes the rest is Hydrogen.
