The reaction mechanism between suc and fum is elimination reaction, but is it E1 or E1cb?
What is the difference between those two mechanisms and which one do you think suits the best, because my teacher told me there isn't any precise answer whether it's E1 or E1cb.

I'm unsure of the mechanism between fumarate and malate? I think it's addition reaction, but why?

Could anyone link where I can read about these reaction mechanisms for beginners?

This is the last work for year, it will be deciding whether I get my A or not. Please provide with any help you can, if I don't do this well, I'll get a C. The hard work under the whole year will be ruined completely.

I'm afraid I can't really follow your question.  You're asking weather the organic chemistry reaction is Elimination 1 or Elimination 1 cb, but I'm a little rusty on that terminology, so I don't know what E1cb is.

Also, why is this question in the High School sub-forum, when E1 is an Organic mechanism.

Also, are you asking about the organic reaction, or instead about the biochemical reaction?   Because enzymes can produce reactions that can't be created in other ways.  For that matter, could you be troubled to identify other reactants?
