Which is the trans and cis structure for CH3CH2(CH3)C=CHCl ?

Hi

Which structure will be the cis structure and which structure will be the trans structure. Is mine correctly named ? I'm very unsure can someone please verify ?

Cl\C=C(CC)/C

Trans-1-chloro-2-methylbut-1-ene

&
Cl/C=C(CC)/C

Cis-1-chloro-2-methylbut-1-ene

What you have drawn is correct. The trans/cis definition follows the Cahn-Ingold-Prelog rules. These you can Google.
