glucopon 225 DK
« on: September 27, 2014, 03:29:28 PM »
Hello everyone.

I am trying to get my hand on some glucopon 225 DK, i want to mix it with hot water to get some foam that can hold the heat
I am not sure but i think it also exist in some soap and schampoo to make it foam more.
It might be so that another name for it is (alkylpolyglukosid(APG))

I noticed that i can order it from Asia but only in very large quantities and i dont need all that much.
If someone has a howto and its fairly easy to do i can try doing it myself.

By the way i do live in Sweden so if i can get it here it would be awesome.

I recognize this, this is an industrial raw material used in cleaning agents -- essentially, one of many glycopolyalkanes, or "sugar soaps."  So yeah, people are unlikely to sell you this particular product in home user quantities.  You may have to search for other "sugar soaps" and see if you can buy them in hobbyist quantities.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

Thanx for your answere. Hmm interesting links. it might be better if i explain what i want to do since i do not hold myself well with chemistry :(

This link shows a way to clean and kill weeds.
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkLPXLyXYVY

and its enviroment friendly.
however they only help big companies and states.

I have found out that what they do is that they use 96 degrees celsius water and add 3% of the amount of water as  glucopon 225 DK, the foam created keep the heat on the weed long enough to kill it and the result is long lasting.

Since i have animals i dont want to use poison to remove the weed so i though i could build my own small device as the one on the video, however to get the glucopon 225 DK seems harder than i thought.

The glucopon 225 DK is made up of ( sorry my english, ) corn starch, coconut oil and palm kernel oil, Is this the same as the one on the link?

Many thanx.

Glucopon is a brand name of one of several Alkyl polyglycosides http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alkyl_polyglycoside  I think just about any soap -- not detergent but soap, will work fine for your application.
