Removal of an ester
« on: October 03, 2014, 03:02:06 PM »
I have ethyl acetoacetate reacting with heat. The ester in the middle of the compound is removed and the two sides are conjoined. Does anybody know how this could occur?

Your description is not clear. Can you please draw or give the proper chemical name of the product?
