In transition metals, it means molecules that chelate to a metal.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Mitch, for clearity sake, are the the natural molecules that surrounds metal ions in a co-ordinate bonding system.

No.  Mitch:'s definition is the correct one.

Mitch, for clearity sake, are the the natural molecules

This definition is both vague, and limiting.  Suffice to say, they don't have to be "natural" molecules.

That's what Mitch: said.

Have you read what wikipedia says about ligands?

No.  Mitch:'s definition is the correct one.

That is not entirely true since not all ligands are chelating ligands
