Hi guys,
As part of my chemistry homework I need to draw the mechanism of that reactions. I think it is one type of rearrangement reaction that i don't know. any help would be greatly appreciated!

It appears the aluminum chloride might coordinate with the carbonyl group. If so, what will that give? The analogs suggest how step 2 might be affected by a difference in carbocation stability and explains the difference in yield (and R-group).
