Can anyone identify this unique piece of glassware?

Hello!
I am in a chemistry competition that requires us to send in a picture of the most unique piece of glassware we could find at our college. We found this piece of glassware in our storage room and we cannot identify it. It seems to be some kind of distillation apparatus, possibly a trap? Anyone know what it is? Thank You!

I saw a similar item installed in an organic chemistry laboratory at Ankara University. At that time I was told that this particular piece of equipment is called a hookah.
