For this lab, we had to combine oxygen and hydrogen gas to launch a rocket. The equation for the rocket launch reaction is: 2H + O2 (yield) 2H2O. Based on this, the best launch should have had 2/3 of hydrogen and 1/3 of oxygen. However, our third trial for our rocket had 70% hydrogen and 30% oxygen (which is close to 2/3) but only went 2.5 meters. The question I need to answer is: what factors could acount for any discrepancies?
