I am super lost on this problem any help or suggestions of some material i could find would be very helpful as I could not afford my soil chemistry book this semester.
The rate of weathering of feldspar in acid soil can be described by the following rate equation.
- D[Feldspar] / dt = k [H+]
Where k = 10-12 sec-1 (measured at 25°C)
What is the rate of feldspar disappearance at pH 5? At pH 3?
Calculate the change in reaction rate at pH 5 for 5°C instead of 25°C. Assume Ea = 54 kJ mol -1; A = 3.2 X 10-3 sec-1
Calculate the change in reaction rate when a catalyst reduces the Ea by 50 % at pH 5 and 25°C (New Ea = 27 kJ mol -1).
