Hi guys,
Does anyone know where I can find a diagram of how fe3+ complexes with aspirin? I would like to add this to my write up, can't seem to find anything.

When the breakdown product of aspirin forms a complex with iron, a strongly purple color is observed. This is a useful test under some circumstances.

Could someone help me explain the diagram at the top of the page in this document.

It shows how aspirin complexes with Fe3+.
Each salicylic acid molecule becomes deprotonated, loosing a proton from the hydroxyl and carboxyl group,since there 3 molecules, that account for the 6 protons produced when the complex forms.
But how does the salicylic acid actually form the complex with fe3+, if someone could help me with that it would be a great help.
