Double bond carbon to oxygen

I am a little confused with the double bond between oxygen and carbon.
Oxygen has 6 valence electrons and needs 2 more to satisfy the octet rule.
When it bonds to carbon with a double bond, that would satisfy the octet rule.
However, all diagrams I have seen shows the double bond and 2 lone Lewis structure pairs, why does'nt it show 3 lone pairs?

How many electrons form the C=O system?

The Carbon atom requires 2 more bonds to complete its octet, which the Oxygen supplies.
The Oxygen atom requires 2 more bonds to complete its octet, which the carbon supplies.
Both should now be happy as they comply with the octet rule.
The Oxygen shows only 2 Lewis lone pairs, why not 3 lone pairs?
I am missing something, could you please explain where I am going wrong?

Sorry for no explanation.

When Carbon bonds to the Oxygen it shares 2 electrons of carbon and carbon shares 2 electrons of oxygen.
This then shows 2 lone Lewis diagram pairs.
