Dear all,
I need your advice on which method is best for measuring lipid peroxidation in methyl linoleate oil sample particularly when small quantity of sample is to be used. I have used the conjugated diene measurement, Iodometric titration (I am not sure of the titration because the amount of the lipid I used was quite smaller than recommended). I have also used the Ferric-Xylenol Oragne (FOX) method using tert-Butyl Hydroperoxide as standard. My results were inconsistent.
Lastly, I once read somewhere that the results from the Fe (II) oxidation method are 1.5- 2 factor higher. How true or false is this? Please I need suggestion on best procedures, possible hidden calculations and comparism behind the lipid peroxide determination methods.
Thank you all.
