We use a polyetheramine in a two-part epoxy. Everything I read (and the supplier) tells me to keep the polyetheramine (similar to Jeffamine D230 -
Datasheet) at room temperature. Where can I find more information on chemical interactions of polyetheramines at temperatures above ~40C with air/moisture/other chemicals etc.?
I know the product we use is somewhat degraded if its heated above 40C, but along with that, it changes color (to straw yellow) and gives off stronger formaldehyde-like smells.
Our supplier is telling me he doesn't know what happens if you heat it, other than it degrades.
