Hello,
I am trying to formulate a makeup-brush-cleaner.
Available commercial products lists SDA-40, and C-12-15 Alkyl Benzoate. (no water listed)
Experimenting a little, the Alkyl Benzoate (AB) is fully ethanol-soluble , and water-insoluble.
adding water at any stage to the AB+ethanol solution - separates (water sinks below AB+ethanol) and would never mix.
current ratio that I like is about 10%-20% AB, and 80%-90% SDA-40
My goal is to dilute the solution, to have a lower % of ethanol, since 80-90% is too aggressive to the brush and skin, without increasing the % of AB (quite expensive and too oily above 20%).
Is there any way to incorporate water into the solution, while both keeping it transparent, and non-separable ?
if not water, what can be used to dilute the solution (lower ethanol %) without increasing oiliness ?
Thanks a lot
