Analytical chemistry project suggestions
« on: October 18, 2015, 10:16:27 PM »
Hello,
My professor is having us pick a project and complete it in 2 weeks and have us present.  I was wondering what kind of project do you guys suggest? Preferably one that can be completed within 2 weeks and also is  cool and interesting. However, I can't use any devices. My methods have to be classical. Thanks.

Do one of the classical experiments you have already done, but apply it to a real world sample.

You could do iodometric titration to determine peroxide content in peroxide-forming solvents (e.g., THF), comparing ones that have open a while versus freshly opened bottles.
