Mechanism with a catalyst in solid phase

I'm not clear what the mechanism of the following reaction, although I propose a mixed aldol condensation followed by transesterification, I can not watch it. I can indicate a possible mechanism

I am not sure what the question is. What do you mean by "watch it", do you think about spectroscopic characterization? or are you just unsure about the role of the catalyst?

if that role does zinc oxide. What would a possible mechanism?
