Hey guys, I just have a question that I feel has a simple answer but I can't figure out the nuance of the statement:

When drawing each carbon atom in a zigzag, try to draw all of the bonds as far apart as possible:

that's the statement above, and the nuance i'm referring to is in the comparison between the bonds in these skeletons:

My question, is, why is that one particular skeletal version "better than" the other skeletal version?
If anyone takes the time to answer my question, that'd be appreciated

It looks nicer and is clearer because it is less cluttered.

Always try to keep the 120° bond angles if possible.
