Hello.
I'd like to know if it's possible to hydrolyze proteins in hydrochloric acid at room temperature.
In the classic method, proteins are hydrolyzed in HCl 6 M at 110°C during 24 hours.
If the proteins are in HCl 6 M at 20°C during 7 days, will I get a partial hydrolysis, or is there a hindrance because of a required activation energy ?
If you have any data about the hydrolysis rate…
Thank you.
