nitrate extraction from fertilizer

Hi
the other day i found some fertilizer in my garage and i thought that it could be used to obtain a nitrate salt. on the package it says calcium ammonium nitrate. what nitrate salt can i get out of it?  and how? i only need about 50 g which i will use to make nitric acid.
