I'm sorry to do that to you you, but you've been on the forums for a little while, and you should know:  we want to help, give you a hint, help you learn, etc.  But a definition is just something you lookup on your own.  There's no help to it.

Most introductory biochemistry textbooks will at least provide reactants and products.  What do you know about phenylalanine hydroxylase so far, and how have you learned it?  With respect to your other question there are six general classes of enzymes, and these are also covered in a good biochemistry textbook.

Thanks for a sensible reply, at least I have a lead where to find the information.
I am presently using 2 expensive chemistry books, but neither give the information I am after.
