Michael Page Engineering are partnering with Anochrome to recruit a high calibre Group Technical Manager to be based at the head office in Wolverhampton.
Job Description
The Group Technical Manager will be accountable for all aspects of the Technical department with primary focus on Product Quality including Product testing and Product innovation. The successful candidate will be key in creating a culture where quality is at the centre of all manufacturing processes across the group, driving a department that adds value across the wider supply chain including a business that can offer robust customer support.
The incumbent takes full responsibility for the leadership and development of the current Technical department; defining an overall strategy and departmental structure in line with company growth plans for the Technical function.
The Group Technical Manager will look to combine the development of new products with redevelopment of existing products as well as the key link for Anochrome with all regulatory bodies such as the IMDS, IPPC, Environment Agency and Local Authorities. It is also imperative the individual is focused on making sure customer needs and quality standards are continually met. Effective cross-functionality with Sales is critical to provide technical support to customers where relevant; and internally with Operations to ensure efficient product launches are achieved.
The role will be part of the senior management team and help drive and develop the overall business. There is also a clear path once the Group Technical Manager has proved their capability to develop into a Technical Director, a board level post. This role will encompass the above outlined position with further emphasis on business strategy and business development.
The Successful Applicant
Who we're looking for
To be considered for the role of Group Technical Manager you will be experienced with the following points.
Degree educated in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, other Technical subjects maybe considered.
Preferably have further professional qualifications such as a PhD, Masters, MBA or Chartership.
Experienced in the leadership of a cross functional Technical department encompassing Research, Design and Development of a full product range.
An effective leader who will relish the challenge of developing the existing workforce while continuing to grow and define the Technical function longer term.
Have the required Engineering gravitas lead highly creative department.
Have excellent communication skills and be experienced in dealing with customers, suppliers and key internal departments.
A solutions-driven individual who, while passionate about innovations, will fully appreciate the manufacturing challenges and commercial viability associated with any new product.
