Master plot method to identify the reaction mechanism.
« on: May 07, 2016, 06:02:21 PM »
Hi

Master plots method given in the following equation-1 is used to identify the reaction mechanism of the solid sate reaction.

equation:  g (α)/g (0.5) = p (x)/p(0.5)----1

where p (x)= exp(-Ea/RT)T2

p(0.5)=exp(-Ea/RT0.5)T20.5

Basically its a comparison between theoretical and experimental plots.

In the equation-1, α=0.5 is considered as a reference point. what is the significance of the alpha (α) here? why the reference point is selected as 0.5?

Thanks
