Ester Hydrolysis with TFA
« on: May 20, 2016, 06:10:12 AM »
Dear all,

Anyone know the mechanism how tert-butyl ester can be hydrolysis by using TFA? What happened to the CF3COO- after the reaction? Anyway, I have pyrazole in the other side chain, is this will affected (protonated) by TFA? If it can be protonated and make salt with CF3COO-, how can I break this salt and get my target compound?

Additional info : my product after hydrolisis is water soluble

Thank you for helping me..

Hint:  I would think in terms of an elimination reaction.
