How to determine what heat is needed.
« on: July 18, 2016, 12:48:32 PM »
What heat is needed to change the temperature of 9.4 grams ice from -10oC to water at 0oC?

Note:

Cice = 2.11 J/(goC)

Cwater = 4.18 J/(goC)

Csteam = 2.08 J/(goC)

I know that you need to get to -10 to 0 but I do not know how.

Look at your specific heat measurements that they give you. What do they mean?

What does it mean that Cice = 2.11 J/(g°C)? How can this help you determine the amount of heat needed to change the temperature of a certain amount of ice?
Or you could, you know, Google it.
