Hi there,

The question may be beginner level but I was quite confused and couldn't find any clear answers online.

I was wondering if there is a difference between "Hydrofluosilicic Acid" & "Hydrofluorosilicic Acid"?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a typo to me.

Thanks Borek,
Can you please confirm if this is absolutely a typo? I don't mean to offend. I'm new here and don't know my way around. Could be that you are guru enough to be authoritative when you say something about chemistry. I just want to make sure because I couldn't find an authoritative answer on the net.
Can you show me somewhere where I can search and find the definitive answer on this?

Thanks for you help.

I understand your worry, but its hard to see the problem.  You're looking for an authoritative source, for spelling?  Lets turn it around -- where did you find the mis-spelled term?  In what document?  Who wrote it? Does that source have other misspellings?  Can you find a document, with the correct spelling, that says the same thing as the misspelled document?  Can you find a document that says you must use Hydrofluosilicic Acid acid, not Hydrofluorosilicic Acid"?, or the reaction will fail?  Such documents do exist, when I does matter, for example, when you must use sodium ferricyanide, and not sodium ferrocyanide.

Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
