can i use hexane instead of pentane in column chromatography since the separation technique cited in paper using ethyl acetate/pentane? and how i could predict the ratio to separate my compound from other matrices?
thank you.

Do a TLC and see if there is a difference. I dont think it matters. I have used heptane instead of hexane and it was fine.
