CMC measurments
« on: December 05, 2016, 06:52:25 PM »
So we did an experiment today where we measured the CMC of ionic surfactants in two different ways. First we did it my measuring conductance and the second time by measuring absorbance by adding Acridine Orange dye. The results we got for the conductance measurements were a lot better and I've been trying to figure out why. Is it simply that absorbance tends to give you more variable and therefore less accurate results or is there a specific reason why conductance is better than absorbance for measuring CMC?
