Concentration
« on: December 05, 2016, 06:29:13 PM »
I have a solution A of 1g of Red Dye (RMM 479.02) and 0.98L of water what is this concentration?

I then take 10g of solution A and mix it with 100g of Lactose monohydrate to form a mixture B.

I take 1g of mixture B and dilute it with 100ml water to form C.

I take 0.5g of mixture B and dilute it with 100ml water to make mixture D
I take 1.5g of mixture B and dilute it with 100ml water to make mixture E
I take 2g of mixture B and dilute it with 100l water to make mixture F

What is the concentration of C, D, E, F. I am hoping its a simple concentration answer but I ain't sure? I need the concentration for my calibration curve which I will prepare the above standard solution so that i plot absorbance versus concentration. Please help really stuck.

Hi there, sadelolo123:, I know you're new to our forum, but I'd like to ask you to carefully read the Forum Rules{click}, and follow them.  You agreed to read and follow them when you signed up, and you're not really doing that.

Start with solution A.  You have a certain mass in a certain volume.  What more do you need to report concentration?  If you need different units, you'll have to convert them, but you don't mention any other units in your post.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
