Problem with calculating enthalpy, bizzare reactions..?
« on: December 05, 2016, 02:44:58 PM »
Hi! I have problem with calculating enthalpy, well in fact with balancing reaction. I have this reactions:
https://scr.hu/Rn32wm

and I am supposed to calculate enthalphy of reaction:
Fe(s) + Cl2(g) -> FeCl2(s)

Can anyone help me?

All these reactions are balanced, no idea where is your problem.

I was trying to calulate enthalpy using linear combination, but I can't get rid off aq from left side of equation..:

aq isn't exactly irrelevant, but it is non-stoichiometric - it simply means "dissolve in water"
