Oxidation of dithionite to dithionate?
« on: December 20, 2016, 09:17:56 AM »
Hi all,

Does anybody have a reference (journal article or textbook) that describes the oxidation of dithionite ions (S2O42-) to dithionate ions (S2O62-).  I can't find anything in the usual sources such as Greenwood and Earnshaw.

Many thanks,
Bill

Look at structure of Acid Blue 317 and calculate oxidation number through analogy.
