Hi all,
Does anybody have a reference (journal article or textbook) that describes the oxidation of dithionite ions (S
2
O

) to dithion
ate
ions (S
2
O
6
2-
). I can't find anything in the usual sources such as Greenwood and Earnshaw.
Many thanks,

Look at structure of Acid Blue 317 and calculate oxidation number through analogy.
