Textile chemicals are class of specialty chemicals and comprise chemicals and intermediates that are used in various stages of textile processing such as preparation, dyeing, printing and finishing. These are often used to enhance or impart desired properties and color to the fabrics during the manufacturing process. Mainly refers to dyes and textile auxiliaries, textile chemicals is crucial to the upgrade and value improvement of textiles. Textile chemicals not only make textile products more functional and more contemporary, but also reform the dyeing and finishing process, so that the textiles product become more and more gentrification and green.

Recently, QYR's Chemical & Material team members conducted detailed research on the industry. We published the "Global Textile Auxiliaries Industry 2017 Market Research Report". QYR found some interesting market trends. We think Transfar, Archroma and Huntsman are world leaders. CHT / Bezema, Dymatic Chemicals, Lonsen, Rudolf GmbH, Zschimmer & Schwarz, NICCA, Pulcra, Lanxess, Matsumoto Yushi Seiyaku and Takemoto are the main players in this market. The research team believes that the global textile auxiliaries have reached 6.5 billion dollars in 2016. By 2022, the global textile auxiliaries are expected to reach $ 7 billion. China, Western Europe, India and Southeast Asia are the main areas of production and consumption regions. At present, China has become the world's largest production area. China's textile auxiliaries production has more than 1,500 k tons. The price of textile chemicals reached a maximum in 2013, then slowly decline. The price is at about 800-2000 USD/MT in 2016.

In recent years, the global textile auxiliaries market is more stable. Only a few companies have merged and reorganized. In 2009, Lonsen acquired Dystar. Lonsen has become a major participant in global textile auxiliaries.Dystar now is a subsidiary of Lonsen, and the finicial result of Dystar has been included in the annual report of Lonsen since 2013. After the bankrupt, the production of textile dyes and textile chemicals by Dystars was once abrupt. After the acquisition, the production of Dystar has been in recovery, but still cannot catch up with the scale as before. In 2015, Archroma acquired BASF's textile chemicals business. This is the second strategic transaction by Archroma following its corporate carve-out from Clariant in 2013, after previously acquiring a stake in the textile dyes and chemicals manufacturer M. Dohmen in 2014. In 2016, Zhejiang Transfar Co. Ltd. acquired 100% of the shares of TANATEX Chemicals group. After the acquisition TANATEX Chemicals will continue to operate under the existing TANATEX brand as an independent entity within the Transfar Group.

In future, the textile chemicals industry in the world will turn concentrated. The world textile chemicals consuming market will still has a certain amount of growth. Global competition is likely to turn to the relationship of competition and cooperation. With the development of economy, textile chemicals have huge market potential in the future. Owing to the increasing of demand in textile chemicals products, the world textile chemicals capacity will continue to expand.
