Hi there!
I've recently been surfing on the Interenet and I've noticed some new names of compound. For example HClO4 (that is named perchloric acid) is named chloric acid such as HClO3 in wikipedia. Is there anyone that could explain me what are the rules that permit me tu identify the compound name along the new nomanclature.

Perchloric acid is called perchloric acid on Wikipedia, and chloric acid is called chloric acid. I just checked.
There is a more systematic nomenclature where the oxidation state of the central atom is used instead of potentially ambiguous prefaces or suffixes.
Thus HClO₄ is chloric(VII) acid, and HClO₃ is chloric(V) acid.
Similarly H₂SO₄ is sulfuric(VI) acid and H₂SO₃ is sulfuric(IV) acid, and so on.
