Order of Reaction
« on: August 28, 2006, 06:46:54 AM »
On reacting magnesium metal with acids, i found that the reaction order with respect to the acid is SECOND for HCl and ethanoic acid, and first  FOR sulphuric acid

I need to explain :

1. HOW does order of reaction relate to STRENTH of the acid ? (ie my weak acid is 1st order and strong acids are 1st and 2nd??? huh???)

2. HOW does the order realte to type of acid?? (ie monprotic or diprotic??0

please give any info you can as there is no information ANYWHERE on the internet !! :(
