Help with writing equations to describe the reactions

So I have absolutely no clue how to do this so if you could please help answer with explanations it would be VERY much appreciated.

There are 4 beakers all reacted with Potassium Permanganate and I need to write an equation describing the reaction in each beaker...
(It's not specified whether it needs to be symbol or word though)

Beaker 1-
1cm^3 of sodium thiosulfate

Beaker 2-
1cm^3 of sodium thiosulfate
and
3cm^3 of barium chloride

Beaker 3-
3cm^3 of barium chloride

Beaker 4-
1cm^3 of sodium thiosulfate
3cm^3 of sodium carbonate

I assume you did an experiment and you have some observations?

Nope :(. This was set as work to do over Summer and it is new to all of us!

To be honest this is quite messy and rather difficult to predict.

Permanganate is an oxidizier, but it can be reduced to several different compounds.

Thiosulfate is a reducing agent and can be oxidized to several different compounds.

That already means first experiment is quite messy and the outcome is quite difficult to predict.

In this forum you have to try your first attempt.
Permanganate is a oxidizer and will be reduced. Thiosulfate will be oxidised to higher sulphur compound, which one?
Barium also can react with Permanganate and lower manganates.

This is all I have so far I don't even know if it's right or whether the cm^3 apply
Beaker 1: KMnO4 + Na2S2O3
Beaker 2: KMnO4 + Na2S2O3 + BaCl2
Beaker 3: KMnO4 + BaCl2
Beaker 4: KMnO4 + Na2S2O3 + Na2CO3

I really don't know much as we haven't touched on any of this yet

You should try to see if you can find a definition for this term, it means something, but what, and if its pertinent, will depend on the situation.  Your textbook, or class notes, or even if you're bold, just ask the instructor: "What does this mean?"

Not bad.  Or forum has subscripts, that'd make the display neater.  But go ahead and save that for the next time.

If this is an experiment to be done, they may have hoped you would look it up, and not go in the lab blind.  You've had a hint from us -- we've identified oxidizing and reducing agents.  See if you can find a hint in your textbook, and have something to talk about in lab.
