If a three component phase diagram shows a binodal curve, it means that two different phases are getting formed. Now if I know two components of that mixture and I need to find out the third one, such that they show a binodal curve, what is the idea behind it? Like should I select such a component which is completely miscible to ne of the two components and comletely immiscible to the other one? or it should be partially miscible with each and every component?
The question asked is: the phase diagram of a three component system is showing a binodal curve. Two of them are water and chloroform, the third one is : a) benzene; b) acetic acid; c) toluene; d) carbon tetrachloride
