How can you tell how many ions are in a formula and please let me know the answer to this:
What is the total number of ions in this chemical expression?
Ca2(PO4)2

The formula is wrong so the answer based on it would be wrong as well.
Basically it is about knowing what indices in the formula mean (in other words: about understanding chemical notation).
