Does coulomb's law only apply to ions?

It's been a few months since I've studied any chemistry, so I've forgotten quite a few things. Does coulomb's law only apply to ionic compounds? Or does it also apply to covalent polar compounds because each atom in a covalent bond has a partial charge?

Coulomb's law applies to any separated charges.
