Total sulfur analysis in Natural gas sample
« on: August 20, 2018, 03:48:28 AM »
Dear Forum,

Hope your are doing fine.

I need help regarding Total Sulfur analysis measurement. As I am not a subject matter expert, hence in advance apologies for any wrong use of words/phrases.

We need to analyze total sulfur content (1-15 ppm) and H2S content (expected to be in the region of 1-10 ppm) in a natural gas sample. The sample will be collected in a 300/500 cc cylinder and will be brought into the lab for analysis. However, we don't have anything setup yet. We do, however, have a Shimadzu-2010 GC but that doesn't do Sulfur analysis. Under theses circumstances, I was wondering what could be the cheapest solution in terms of equipment that will give me both those readings. I know there are some ASTM standards set for such tests, but as I said before, not an expert, hence looking for recommendation for equipment.

Thanks.

P.S. The GC is currently run by an experimental engineer, I know very little on how it works.
