Stereoisomers of 1,3 - dibromocyclobutane
« on: October 14, 2018, 11:02:02 AM »
I would like you to ask about all stereoisomers of 1,3 - dibromocyclobutane? How many stereoisomers has this compound? 2 or 3?

1 cis isomer because of planar symmetry.
2 trans isomers? Not sure if mirror reflections are the same compounds.

In addition I found information that this compound has 2 stereogenic centers and I think it's not true, am I right? 1,3 - dibromocyclobutane does not have any stereogenic centers.

Both isomers have a plane of symmetry containing the two CHBr units.
