Hello everyone,
Looking for helo to reduce nitro and alkene in this stilbene.
What one pot reaction (or two steps) condition you suggest (Other the Zn/HCl followed by NH4Cl).
Use of Pd.C remove the Cl. So these two condition can not be used.
Thanks

NaBH4/Pd-C in methanol, if you do this carefull I dont think you will remove the Cl. You will need large excess NaBH4 and add it in small portions.

You can try different catalyst as well. Colleagues had good experience with PtO2 or Pt/C. Or poisoning the palladium catalyst: Org. Lett., 2006, 8, 3279-3281.
