Given the equation (the 1st one in the image) with a potential of 0.92 V, if the concentrations of the ions were 1.0 M and the pressure of H2 were 1.0 atm, then what is e° for the half reaction involving Hg?
I know e° = e°(oxidation) + e°(reduction), esp. since both concentrations are 1.0M, but I don't quite see how that leads to the answer being 0.92 V as well. I thought it would be less than that (bc of the equation I mentioned). Could someone please help me out?
