Right now I´m trying to purify CoCO3 using recrystallization but I´m having trouble finding the best solvent.

There is no solvent for cobalt carbonate. You just have to use the maximum pure cobalt salt and precipitate the cobalt carbonate in a neutral environment (carbonates excluded because of precipitation basic cobalt carbonate). In this way, you may obtain CoCO3·4H2O from the aqueous solution.

Technically water is a solvent.

I have dissolved CoCO3 in HNO3 and precipitated with NaHCO3 in solution. I had to heat up solution to 80 C to get close to quantitative precipitate.
