Unknown clusters on NH4(H2PO4) + 1/2 CaSO4
« on: December 30, 2019, 03:14:45 PM »
Hey,
I made a mixture of 7 NH4(H2PO4) and 3 1/2 CaSO4, adding 3 H2O afterwards to make a solution, to which was added a food colorer Cl42090. I used some of it for Crystal growth, but decided to keep some in a mug. About four days later, once it has turned solid again, pieces of white matter started developing on top. I'm interesting in knowing what are these - the mixture was exposed to air (with a smellable amount of chlorine). Is it  simply a product of oxidation? I tried to provide a picture, but it couldn't be uploaded. Thanks in advance!
