Gas chromatography, internal standered techique

when doing a GC this technique is used to be sure that there are no nonvlatile compounds in the mixture. a volitile component( we'll call it D) is added to the mixture that will not affact the GC is added. and you can find the weight percentages in the origonal mixture. my problem is that i dont understand how to adjust the percent wiehts to achieve the correct wieght percent.
if this dosn't make sence im sorry. im  just confused about the whole thing.

Do you undestand WHAT IS Quantitation Technique in Gas Chromatography?
Did you prepare a calibration curve?
