What type of bond is ICl? Covalent or Polarcovalent?
« on: October 11, 2020, 11:10:52 AM »
I'm doing some work revolving bonds and I have to decide whether ICl is polarcovalent or just covalent. On the type bond triangle it seems it's covalent but I've gotten varying answers from different sources so I came here to see if I could get an answer. Any help?

Chlorine is more electronegative as iodine. Therefore the covalent bond is shifted to chlorine und makes the molecule polar.
