Need help with finding molality when given mole fraction
« on: October 04, 2006, 10:54:13 PM »
i can't figure this question out can anyone help:

a sample of ethylene glycol is dissolved in water to make a solution in which the mole fraction of ethylene glycol is 0.236.  what is the molality of ethylene glycol in this solution?

General approach (as described here) is to start from the definitions of the concentrations to derive conversion formula. To speed it up you may use concentration cheat sheet, although I suggest to try it first by yourself.
