Chemsketch - 3D Viewer is unusably slow
« on: February 04, 2021, 01:09:51 PM »
I apologize if this isn't the best place to post this, but the first result when you search "chemsketch forum" is on this site.

I have a mid-end laptop, so I was surprised to see the 3D viewer run this slow. The software isn't CPU-intensive either, so I am really puzzled on why it operates this poorly. Rotating a structure for a single frame takes around 10 seconds, determining the bond angle for the simplest structures also takes an eternity. The buttons become unresponsive for long periods of time whenever I press something. Please help.

I doubt any of the regulars knows the answer, but in general when you ask such questions not giving info on OS version and hardware details means nobody will be able to help.
