n-factor or valencey factor calculation
« on: June 26, 2021, 11:25:03 PM »
How do I find the n-factor of methane in:
CH4 + 2O2  :rarrow: CO2 + 2H2O

By my understanding I'm supposed to find the change in oxidation number of carbon, which would be 8. But looking online I find it to be 4.
